I might have been in heaven.. I was telling myself the very first day I spent in Albufeira. Beautiful sandy beaches, just a handful of people in the city, quiet, the smell and sound of the ocean. Perrrffeect!! And it was perfect indeed, until a certain point, when I went out in the evening to have a nice dinner.. Or so I thought it will be.
I am more of a quiet person, enjoing the nature in all it's glory, loving the slow kind of life. But evenings in Albufeira were full of loud, drunk people, and I could not believe it that most of them were.. British tourists.
Now I'm not going to judge, because everyone has the right to pass their time as they wish. But for me it was too much. So I chose to stay away from all of it and chose the quiet places I could find in Albufeira. Because in the end, I would not let anyone destroy my 3 day vacation in that beautiful city.
I would spend the first half of the day on the beach, bathing in the sun and listening to the waves.. and after lunch I would stroll the city over and over again until I learned the streets, the houses and met all the stray cats. I admired every single corner, door and paved street.
The nicest thing you could do while in Albufeira, is to take a boat trip to the caves! Oh wow, that was breathtaking for sure! We had so much fun and we've seen such beautiful places that it was actually hard to believe I was actually seeing it!
The boat trip cost us 26 Euro each and we had each a glass of wine when we got on the boat. You could, of course, buy more on board. They had toilets, Wi-Fi and the crew was really nice to us all. They explained everything while on the boat, they were funny and helpful. Ohh and they also had a professional photographer on boat (but we did not choose that service as you have to pay extra for it)
See bellow some pictures from the boat trip! And yes, hold your breath because you are going to want to be there right now!
And on our last night we made the best decision, to spend a couple of hours in a very nice place called Sal Rosa. Please do google search it and go for a drink (the cocktails are to die for!) and enjoy the view it's simply amazing! Do so in the evening of course, at sunset!
